The Firm’s real estate practice provides its clients broad capabilities, experience and depth in the areas of real estate asset transactions, real estate development, commercial leasing, commercial landlord-tenant matters, licensing of air rights and easements, eminent domain, litigation, public finance, and project specific government relations/public affairs engagements. The Firm represents individuals, businesses, real estate developers and nonprofit organizations in real estate acquisitions and sales, affordable and supportive housing development, real estate tax exemption, tax credit syndication financing, commercial landlords and tenants in the negotiation and preparation of ground leases, retail and office space leases, commercial landlord-tenant litigation, complex real estate litigation, adverse possession claims, partition actions and lien proceedings.
In connection with the Firm’s representation of nonprofit organizations the Firm is experienced in the various New York City real estate tax exemptions available through the New York State Real Property Tax Law, the New York State Private Housing Finance Law (Article 5 and Article 11) and administered through the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the New York City Department of Finance.
